History
The parent company, Stencil Cutting and Supply Company (SCS) was founded in the mid-1970’s by Robley G. Cook, a visually-impaired individual who saw the need to assist the handicapped with directional Braille signs.

Mr. Cook identified the elevator industry as the primary market for his Braille signage product. Consequently, he approached all the elevator manufacturers and solicited their business for metal Braille signs. In 1983, Mr. Cook became ill and passed away, leaving the business in estate. Donna Anderst was hired as general manager and subsequently purchased the company in 1986.
Over the ensuing years, the business grew and product offerings expanded. A more aggressive approach was taken to market the company’s core capabilities.
In 1989, a die cast Braille product was designed and introduced. This resulted in the company being the only Braille supplier to manufacture both metal stamped and die cast products. In response to customer's requests, the company continued to acquire the equipment needed to perform all in-house manufacturing.
The company continues to innovate and meet the challenges put forth by its customers. The current focus is to design, manufacture, and provide finished products using our core competencies (Plastic Injection Molding, Die Casting, Metal Stamping, Decorating, and Assembly). These capabilities provide customers with a diversified supplier focusing on service and reliability.
In 2005, SCS established a subsidiary division, Advanced Insight Manufacturing (AIM). With custom manufacturing as a new focus; SCS-AIM required more space to accommodate the response from our customers. SCS-AIM relocated to a multi-functional facility near the Mississippi River in beautiful Red Wing, Minnesota.
