In the Beginning
The parent company, Stencil Cutting and Supply Company (SCS) was founded in the mid-1970’s by Robley G. Cook, a visually-impaired individual who saw the need to assist the handicapped with directional Braille signs. Mr. Cook identified the elevator industry as the primary market for his Braille signage product. Consequently, he approached all the elevator manufacturers and solicited their business for metal Braille signs. Mr. Cook contracted all metal stamping to be done by a fabrication shop.
In 1983, Mr. Cook became ill and passed away, leaving the business in estate. This presentation of our products and services is dedicated to the memory of our founder, Robley G. Cook, whose respect for quality and devotion to the service of our customers provides daily inspiration for our progress and achievements.
